The Liberal Party has begun doing more with a Muppet meme of a Prime Minister in its quest to unseat the Labor Party from government, but the wisdom of doing so needs to be questioned.

Let’s have a history lesson on a few little incidents before we get to this Muppet stuff somebody thinks is a really clever thing to be doing in the lead up to Saturday.

Coalition shadow minister rightfully take exception when the Prime Minister characterised people as having a disability when speaking during question time.

A remark related to Tourette’s’ syndrome appropriately caused outrage, and the Prime Minister eventually apologised for the remark knowing full well how people with Tourette’s would perceive a politician using their condition as a political weapon against an opponent.

The fact he apologised for it does not alter the fact that it entered his head in the same way as calling Peter Dutton, the opposition leader, a ‘boofhead’ across the chamber.
